So with the change in eclipse, i think that getting eclipse is necessary, although only 1 point would be enough in my opinion. haven't had a chance to test it as the realms are still down. If anyone notices anything on EJ about this, please post.

edit: they nerfed the starfire glyph but it should still be used.

I was using eclipse pre buff. Even buffed, i dont think its worth it. Switching to wrath is just such a huge loss in dps.

wrath has always been a higher damage spell, but it has a few problems:
it's NOT mana efficient
latency plays a huge part of your dps
higher dps gear favors starfire over wrath atm. (i.e. ashtongue trinket, 4 piece t6)

Now, after reading up a bit more on EJ, people are saying that possibly throwing out wraths until eclipse procs then spamming starfire may be a better rotation and easily way more mana efficient. The only problem with this is that the number of wraths u may have to cast before eclipse procs would be highly variable with only 60% of the wrath crits would activate eclipse(when off internal cd) and your wrath crit rating should be wayyyyy lower than your starfire crit with other talents being used and 4 piece t6. I really don't know about the whole eclipse thing at the moment. from my standpoint nothing lives long enough for us to go through the whole eclipse rotation more than 5x so it may just be better to avoid speccing into it and put the points elsewhere possibly lolphoon and 2/2 Gale Winds for faster trash clears?

I thought it was the other way around? Throw SF until it procs then throw wraths.

That's the idea that should be best with eclipse. by 80, i'm sure someone will have done enough math on this to really put out an optimal spec and rotation.
In BT last night, I didn't have eclipse specd yet i managed to put out very high dps. I dunno if Aara wasn't trying but his dps was lower than normal. i noticed that he had pretty equal percentage of his damage from wrath and from starfire so i assume he was using eclipse...
at this point i'm just not sure if eclipse is even worth picking up.
